Day 1 - Queenstown - Arrive

After clearing customs and immigration, you are transferred from Queenstown Airport to your Queenstown accommodation.

Day 2 - Queenstown

A free day to relax and explore Queenstown and the surrounding region.

Day 3 - Queenstown to Mt Cook/Aoraki and Christchurch

This morning you board your luxury scenic coach (optional accommodation pickup is available) for a fascinating one-way day trip from Queenstown, through the rugged Karweu Gorge and the  through the rugged and beautiful landscape of Otago, ascending up  the Lindis Pass into the Mackenzie Country to visit Mount Cook Village at the base of New Zealand's highest Mt Cook/Aoraki situated in a national park and UNESCO World Heritage Site for a lunch stop. Optional lunch can be prebooked.

Here there is time to experience an optional scenic helicopter or skiplane flight with a snow landing (weather permitting). Continue your journey, passing the glacier lake of Lake Pukaki, with a stop at the Church of the Good Shepherd on the shores of Lake Tekapo, before descending down Burkes Pass, across the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch.

Day 4 - Christchurch to Kaikoura

This morning, it’s all aboard the Coastal Pacific train to Kaikoura, for a scenic train journey that passing through stunning coastal scenery and rugged mountain ranges to Kaikoura, for a whale watching tour by boat or light aircraft. See the gentle giants of the sea and be thrilled as the giant sperm whales breach, and watch the dolphins and seals at play.

Day 5 - Kaikoura to Wellington via Picton

This morning, it’s all aboard the Coastal Pacific train to Kaikoura, for a scenic train journey that passing through stunning coastal scenery and rugged mountain ranges to the winery growing region of Blenheim and to Picton for travel on an Inter Islander ferry, crossing Cook Strait to Picton to Wellington - the harbour city and the coolest little capital in the world.


Day 6 - Wellington to Rotorua

There is more stunning scenery on offer today as you travel by coach to Wellington, passing the Kapiti coast ascending up the North Island's central plateau passing the the mighty volcanoes of Mt Ruapheu, Tongariro and
Ngauruhoe, desending down to Lake Taupo, to the geo-thermal region of Rotorua.

Day 7 - Rotorua

This morning explore Rotorua's geothermal wonderland and discover the unique culture of New Zealand's Maori people. Enjoy a guided tour of Te Puia, see Rainbow Springs and watch the Agrodome Sheep Show. The rest of the day is at leisure and in the evening you might like to experience a Maori hangi (a traditional barbecue) and concert (at own expense).

Day 8 - Rotorua to Waitomo Caves and Auckland

This morning you are picked up from your accommodation by luxury scenic coach for a scenic journey from Auckland and to the magical Waitomo Caves. Here you will have a guided tour of the caves, before taking a short boat ride along the river to the grotto. Be enchanted by the thousands of glow worms emitting tiny lights that twinkle in the darkness.

Day 9 - Auckland - Leave
